This was perched on top of an ice-cream!
It was the colour in the shadow that caught my attention....now if someone could just tell me what it is...:blush:

....the fruit inside a Physalis or Chinese Lantern!
I have just picked some from my friends' garden to dry out as they are so pretty...I had no idea that this is what was hiding inside. Although - beware - not all varieties are edible!

Well - I have learned something today - thanks everyone :highfive:

My first thought was kumquat but I've never seen them in little leafy parcels, don't they just grow like mini oranges?

I like this picture! Here in Italy this fruit is called "Chichingero", it is delicious filled with liquor and coated with dark chocolate! :drool: :rose: :)

It is the fruit of phisialys!" Monaie du Pape" je crois. C'est comestible;but it isn't very tasty! I ate some already!:laughing:
